In a reallotment of seats for the April 9 Assembly elections, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has given two of its seats to new alliance partner, the Neyam Makkal Kazhagam (NMK) formed by Independent legislator G. Nehru. A press note from TVK general secretary N. Anand said this follows the party founder president Vijay giving the nod to Mr. Nehru’s request for fighting the April 9 elections as part of the TVK alliance. Mr. Nehru had launched his regional party in October, 2025 pledging to safeguard the rights of the people and to fight for securing Statehood.
