In the run-up to the Assembly election, the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) on Monday (March 23, 2026) held a public consultation here to gather inputs for its election manifesto.

The meeting, organised by the Erode Urban District Congress Committee, sought to incorporate the needs and expectations of the people into the party’s manifesto.

Former MLA R.M. Palanisamy, in the presence of the Committee’s president P. Rajesh Rajappa, received representations from the Erode District Federation of All Industrial and Trade Associations (FATIA), trade bodies, traders, entrepreneurs, activists and members of the public. Held at a private marriage hall in Surampatti Valasu, the meeting saw participation from a cross-section of stakeholders, including businesspersons, small and micro entrepreneurs, trade union representatives, social activists and community leaders, who shared their views on development priorities and local issues.

Organisers said the feedback gathered would play a key role in shaping the party’s manifesto for the ensuing election.
