Mohanlal to feature in Priyadarshan’s 100th film

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal will be reuniting with filmmaker Priyadarshan for a currently untitled film, the makers announced recently. It will mark the 100^th film of Priyadarshan and is backed by Mohanlal’s longtime collaborator, Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas with Binu George Alexander serving as a co-producer.

Mohanlal took to social media recently to make the announcement as he wrote a long note in caption about his association with Priyadarshan. The actor said that such milestones belong not just to one person but to everyone who witnessed the journey up-close. “A hundred films is not just a number. It is a lifetime of stories told with passion, countless mornings driven by belief in the magic of cinema, and a journey of unwavering dedication that I have had the privilege of witnessing up close,” Mohanlal wrote.

He added, “I am deeply honoured to be a part of this journey. Some moments are not meant to be explained, only felt and held close with gratitude. To my friend, here is to everything you have created, everything you have given the world, and all the stories that are still waiting to be told.”

Interestingly, the superstar had also starred Priyadarshan’s debut film, Poochakkoru Mookkuthi in 1984. The two have since then worked in Chithram, Abhimanyu, Boeing Boeing, TP Balagopalan MA, Midhunam, Kaalapaani, and Oppam. They last worked together in Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham in 2021.

Meanwhile, Priyadarshan’s next theatrical release will be the Hindi film, Bhooth Bangla, a horror comedy headlined by Akshay Kumar. It will be released in theatres on April 10.
