Police checking the office of AIADMK MLA R.B. Udayakumar in Thirumangalam on Sunday. Appealing to the poll officials to strictly adhere to the guidelines laid out by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the advocates wing of the AIADMK charged that in just about a few days since the model code of conduct came into force, the officials had checked the office of their MLA R.B. Udayakumar in his constituency. Speaking to media persons, the advocates, including Tamilselvan and others, said on Sunday that the police, accompanied by the flying squad team comprising revenue department and videographers came to the ‘Amma Kovil’ (where Mr. Udayakumar’s office functioned) and checked at random. The AIADMK members said that they did not object to the check and maintained that they welcomed and cooperated with the officials, but raised eyebrows only over the manner in which the poll officials surfaced into their premises alone.
