Police officials arrested eight persons and seized 17 red sanders logs weighing nearly 326.70 kg, along with three vehicles. The total value of the seized property is approximately ₹10.54 lakh.

Acting on a tip-off, Khajipeta Inspector S. Vamsidhar, along with his team and Forest Department officials, reportedly tracked the movement of some persons in the forest area near Chilla Kanuma on the west side of Nagasanipalle village in Khajipeta mandal of Kadapa district in the early hours of Sunday. Upon seeing the police, the persons attempted to flee, leaving behind the truck in which they were loading the red sanders logs.

In the presence of the local people, the police arrested eight persons, while few others managed to escape. The accused were identified as Chitteni Prathap Reddy, Kommalapati Hari Krishna, and Dandu Krupa Kumar, all hailing from Tirupati district; Edagottu Sheshu, Edagottu Teja, Kanala Vara Chandra Kumar and Machireddy Srinivasula Reddy from Kadapa district; and Bandi Mahendra from Chittoor district.

The Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) appreciated Khajipeta Inspector and his team for their successful operation.
