Video surveillance teams engaged in election monitoring in Coimbatore district have been instructed to record voter statements as part of their documentation process. The teams, which record the election-related activities such as public meetings, campaign events, and vehicle rallies, will also collect on-record responses from voters in the areas where such events are held. Officials said the district administration has deployed one video surveillance team in each Assembly constituency. Each team includes two officials of the rank of Tahsildar and Village Administrative Officer, along with a videographer. The footage is submitted to the Returning Officer concerned for review. The recordings are examined to assess election expenditure and identify violations. Officials said the inclusion of voter responses will serve as supporting evidence during scrutiny.
