Three women, including two senior citizens, were killed and at least 12 others sustained injuries in a late-night road accident on NH‑648 near Devanahalli on Saturday (March 21). According to the police, the victims were part of a Stree Shakthi Sangha group from Tiptur in Tumakuru district and were on their way to Kashi for a pilgrimage when the accident occurred.

The incident occurred at around 11.50 p.m. on Saturday at the Rani Circle flyover down-ramp, on the stretch connecting Hoskote to Doddaballapur, which is part of the Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR).
