A flying squad team seized gold jewellery worth ₹27 lakh along the Sakkudi–Poovanthi road in Madurai East Assembly constituency, during a vehicle inspection on Saturday. The gold jewellery was being carried without any supporting documents. The officials seized the jewellery and handed them over to the Returning Officer concerned.
