Tamil book on Chithirai festival released in Madurai

Francis Publications along with the Book Guild of Madurai released a book titled ‘Sirargal Kondadum Chithirai Thiruvizha,’ here on Saturday.

Author of the book Nicholas Francis, speaking on the occasion of book launch, said that the book was the first ever effort to professionally publish the famous Chithirai festival as a book for the public, especially the forthcoming generations.

“The idea is to get the people of Madurai to be a part of this book through their writings. The poems, short stories and photograph based essays were all selected through competition conducted at Sree Meenakshi Government Arts College for Women and Yadava College.
