Muslims offered special prayers and donated rice, money and clothes to the needy as they celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday. Thousands of Muslims participated in the special prayers organised in mosques, sprawling grounds of private schools and other open places in Melapalayam. They exchanged greetings after the special prayers and distributed rice, money and clothes to the poor who were waiting near these places.
