Special Eid-ul-Fitr prayers were held at 323 mosques, including 48 Eid grounds, across Coimbatore district on Saturday, with around four lakh Muslims taking part.

According to a statement issued by Coimbatore District All Jamaath general secretary Haji M.I. Muhammed Ali, the festival was observed following the sighting of the Shawwal crescent on Friday night. Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of Ramzan, was celebrated on Saturday, the first day of Shawwal.
