Man arrested with cannabis oil worth ₹4.5 lakh by Madhapur police

A 28-year-old man was arrested by Madhapur police after being found in possession of cannabis oil valued at about ₹4.5 lakh during a patrol in the Ayyappa Society area.

The accused, 28-year-old car mechanic Parusamula Dinesh, from Kaithalapur in Allapur and a native of Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, was apprehended at about 12.35 p.m. on March 19, at Ayyappa Society Road following specific information received earlier in the day.

According to the police, a search of his bag led to the seizure of 184 small plastic boxes containing cannabis oil, an extract derived from cannabis. The total quantity seized was about 920 grams. His motorcycle was also confiscated. A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The accused was produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. Further investigation is under way.
