General Observer Neha Sharma on Saturday inspected the arrangements made for the conduct of the Assembly elections in Mayiladuthurai district. She reviewed the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) centre, election control room, polling stations and the counting centre. According to an official release, she examined the functioning of the control room, including the handling of complaints, and reviewed the operations of Flying Squad and Static Surveillance Teams. She stressed on prompt action on complaints and strict monitoring of unauthorised political advertisements. Earlier, she inspected polling stations in Nidur, Kadalangudi, and Manalmedu, and the counting centre at A.V.C. College, verifying basic amenities.
