The Vairamudi Brahmotsava will be held at Melukote from March 23 to April 5, with the much-awaited Vairamudi crown adorning ceremony and grand procession scheduled for March 28. Presiding over a preparatory meeting at Melukote, Darshan Puttannaiah, MLA of the constituency, said lakhs of devotees are expected to participate in the festival. He emphasised the need for adequate arrangements for drinking water, sanitation, medical services, and other basic amenities. He also instructed officials to prioritise tight security, effective crowd management, and regular KSRTC bus services. Officials have been directed to install proper barricades to regulate the crowd and ensure the smooth conduct of the grand procession on March 28. Mandya Deputy Commissioner Kumar said that on the day of the Vairamudi festival, the idol of Lord Cheluvanarayanaswamy will be adorned with a sacred diamond-studded crown and precious ornaments, drawing massive crowds. He directed officials to facilitate smooth darshan by ensuring systematic barricading and maintaining cleanliness. He further said that the Teppotsava at the historic Panchakalyani pond will be held on April 1, and officials have been instructed to provide bathing facilities, temporary toilets, and proper lighting arrangements. Parking arrangements for four-wheelers will be made behind the SCT Technical Education Institution, with emphasis on adequate lighting, sanitation, signboards, and cleanliness. Health authorities have been directed to set up medical facilities at the temple premises, parking zones, and Dasoha Bhavan, and provide essential medicines and first aid services. Special illumination and floral decorations will be arranged at the Cheluvanarayana Swamy Temple and the Yoga Narasimha Swamy Temple, along with major mantapas and kalyanis on the temple premises.
