Prominent industrialist from Anakapalle, Mutyala Venkateswara Rao, joined the BJP in the presence of State party president P. V. N. Madhav in Visakhapatnam on Saturday. Mr. Madhav welcomed Mr. Venkateswara Rao, popularly known as MVR, into the party at a function held at the party office. Mr. Venkateswara Rao joined along with nearly 100 followers, including elected representatives of local bodies from Anakapalle. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Venkateswara Rao said he was drawn to the BJP by its ideology and the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr. Madhav urged party leaders to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level in the district and to take Central government schemes to the people.
