About 37 passengers on a bus had a miraculous escape when the bus they were travelling in was engulfed in fire after a tyre burst near Tarapuram in the Ramabhadrapuram mandal of Vizianagaram district in the early hours of Saturday (March 21, 2026). According to the police, the bus was travelling from Bhubaneswar to Malkangiri in Odisha. The driver made all the passengers get off the bus as it caught fire after the tyre burst. The bus was completely gutted in the incident. A few public representatives of Odisha were also reportedly travelling in the bus. Police officials of Vizianagaram district rushed to the spot and helped the passengers contact their family from the accident spot. The travel agency arranged another bus for the passengers to reach the destination of Malkangiri.
