The Election Commission has appointed three general observers and five expenditure observers to monitor the conduct of elections to the seven Assembly constituencies in Villupuram district. The officers are from the Indian Administrative Service and Indian Revenue Service respectively. Shalini Pandit has been appointed as the General Observer for Vanur (SC) and Villupuram Assembly constituencies. She could be contacted on the mobile number 73973 87950. Bhausaheb Dangade has been appointed as the General Observer for Gingee, Mailam and Tindivanam (SC) Assembly constituencies. He can be reached on the number 73580 21950 Om Prakash Verma has been appointed as the General Observer for Vikravandi and Tirukoyilur Assembly constituencies. He could be contacted on the mobile number 73959 09950. The three General Observers are staying at the Government Circuit House in Villupuram. On Friday, the Observers held a consultative meeting with District Election Officer and Collector Sheik Abdul Rahman and other officials to review the arrangements for the elections and the implementation of the model code of conduct.
