Namassivayam filed his nomination in Mannadipet while former Minister M. Kandasamy submitted his papers in Embalam (SC). Former Minister A.K. Sai J. Saravanan Kumar filed his papers as an Independent candidate in Thirubhuvanai (SC). The candidates of Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), PMK and Independents also filed their nominations for various constituencies.
