Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Ponguru Narayana on Friday (March 20) inspected the ongoing developmental works near Santhapeta market in Nellore city.

Speaking on the occasion, he pointed out that the government has stood by its promise of releasing a job calendar for employment generation and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister for HRD Nara Lokesh were keen on eliminating poverty through improving livelihood sources in the State.

“The MSME cluster will be opened by the month-end and new factories will be opened in place of the existing sugar factory. The job calendar for creation of 10,060 jobs is in fulfilment of our promise made during the elections”, he said.

Regarding the development of his Nellore city constituency, Mr. Narayana said fifteen major localities in the heart of the city such as Pogathota area would be developed on a priority basis. Nellore will be made a model city with the laying of drainage and cement roads in double the area promised ahead of the general elections.

While touring Golla Street, the Minister visited the residences of Muslim families, interacted with them and extended Ramzan wishes.

Nellore Mayor Sujatha Ashok, Commissioner Y.O. Nandan, Deputy Mayor P. Roop Kumar Yadav, State Warehousing Corporation Director K. Srinivasulu, former Municipal Chairperson Tallapaka Anuradha were present.
