So far ten sets of nomination papers have been filed after the nomination process began, Returning Officer Santhosh Kumar said in a release. Samarth Shamanur Mallikarjun, son of Horticulture Minister S.S. Mallikarjun, has filed two sets of nomination papers as Congress candidate and independent candidate, while Srinivas T. filed his nomination papers as BJP candidate. The others, who filed nomination papers on Friday, were Iranna of Indian Political Congress, A.T. Dada Khalandar of Country Citizen Party, M.G. Shrikanth of Navabharath Sena Party, Sadiq Pailwan of INC, K.H. Mehaboob as independent candidate, K.S. Shivakumarappa of Aam Aadmi Party.
