The Telangana High Court dismissed a writ petition which contended that Section 146 of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Act-1955 was unconstitutional and repugnant to the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition Act-2013. A bench of Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin said it was not satisfied with the contention that the section suffered from legislative incompetence. It did not overlap the Act of 2013 and was not repugnant to that Act, the bench said in its judgment. The petitioner was issued a notice on February 9 requesting him to hand over physical possession of a part of his property to GHMC.
