Due to heavy rain in the Edappadi locality, rainwater stagnated at the Edappadi tahsildar office premises in Salem district on Friday. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT Heavy rain lashed Salem and Namakkal districts for second consecutive day on Friday. A total of 384.6 mm rainfall was recorded in the last 24 hours that ended at 6 a.m. in the district. The rain started on Thursday midnight in various parts of the district, especially at Edappadi, Mettur, and Salem City. In Salem city, rain poured heavily between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m., and power supply was disrupted in many places in the city at midnight. Due to heavy rain at Edappadi, rainwater stagnated in and around the Edappadi tahsildar office. Banana trees were also damaged due to the rain in the Edappadi locality.
