Salem West MLA R. Arul of PMK Dr. Ramadoss faction on Friday said that he is contesting again in the constituency and started his election campaign. Speaking to reporters, Mr. Arul said that they have yet to start vote canvassing in every village. “Today (Friday) we started to meet important people at Kondappanaickenpatti and sought their views on whether to contest in elections again. They gave their support and asked me to contest. They also appreciate my work in the last five years. So, I am contesting in this election again,” Mr. Arul added. Denying a rift with Dr. Ramadoss and joining DMK, Mr. Arul said that “on Thursday also we met Dr. Ramadoss. We asked our leader to face elections with an alliance. Dr. Ramadoss will decide on an alliance,” Mr. Arul added.
