Seventeen people, including eight children (four boys and three girls), who were found seeking alms at major road junctions in Coimbatore city, were rescued by the officials and sent back to their home State on March 19, 2026 (Thursday). According to the officials, the group had been seen at locations such as Kovai Pudur, Avinashi Road and Kuniyamuthur over the past few days, with the presence of infants and young children prompting a complaint to Childline (1098).
