Election Observers appointed by the Election Commission have started to arrive in Virudhunagar district to monitor the poll campaign and check violation of the model code of conduct.

Senior bureaucrats from Bihar, Maharastra, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have been appointed as General, Expenditure and Police Observers.

Members of the public, candidates and representatives of political parties can lodge election-related complaints in the severan Assembly constituencies to the official concerned in person or over their mobile phone numbers, said Virudhunagar Collector and District Election Officer N.O. Sukhaputra.

Udayan Mishra, a 2011-batch IAS officer from Bihar, is the General Observer for Rajapalayam and Srivilliputtur (Reserved) constituencies. He can be contacted over 94899-85870.

Anup Kumar Yadav, a 2002-batch IAS officer from Maharastra, is the General Observer for Virudhunagar and Aruppukottai Assembly seats (94899-85872).

The General Observer for Tiruchuli Assembly seat is Sanjeev Shrivastava (94899-85873), a 2011-batch IAS officer from Madhya Pradesh.

The General Observer for Sattur and Sivakasi Assembly constituencies is yet to arrive.

The Police Observer for all the seven Assembly constituency of Virudhunagar district is 2009-batch IPS officer Akhilesh Kumar Chaurasia from Uttar Pradesh (94889-85878).

The Expenditure Observer from Rajapalayam and Srivilliputtur Assembly seats is 2009-batch IRS Officer from Maharastra Sukhchain Singh (94899-85874).

The Expenditure Observers for other constituencies are 2014-batch IRS officer, Anil Kumar from Uttar Pradesh , for Sattur and Sivakasi (94899-85875). A 2008-batch IRS officer from Maharastra, Nayanjyothi Nath is the Expenditure Observer for Virudhunagar and Aruppukottai (94889-85876).

The Expenditure Observer for Tiruchuli is a 2014-batch IRS officer from Maharstra, Waghmare Jay G (94889-85877).
