A 35-year-old migrant worker, who allegedly sexually assaulted a software engineer who was waiting to board bike taxi near Kilpauk, was arrested. Police sources said the victim has been staying at a women’s hostel and is working as a software engineer with a private firm in the city. While she was waiting at the bus stop on Monday for a bike ride to go to her hostel, the accused, who was out on a walk in the same area, approached the victim and sexually assaulted her. Subsequently, patrolling police personnel came to her rescue. When she narrated the incident, the police chased the accused, who had run a short distance away, and apprehended him. The accused was identified as Pramod Yadav, 36, of Jharkhand. He was employed in a sweet stall in Egmore.
