A seven-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a speeding two-wheeler near Guindy on Thursday (March 19, 2026). A senior official from the city traffic police said Gomathy, 26, a resident of West Saidapet, worked at a petrol bunk located in St. Thomas Mount. She had brought her son Devarajan to her workplace, as it was a school holiday, on her bicycle. After finishing her work, she was returning home – with her son on the pillion – via the Kathipara flyover. As she was descending the flyover, a speeding two-wheeler driven by Saravan, working as a deputy manager in a private company, hit them. In the accident, both Devarajan and Gomathi were thrown off the cycle and sustained severe injuries.
