The Coimbatore District Police on Wednesday arrested 32 persons involved in various offences in a special drive conducted in view of the forthcoming Assembly election and as part of maintaining law and order for a peaceful electoral environment. Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police K. Karthikeyan initiated the special drive targeting known offenders and history-sheeters. Coordinated operations were carried throughout the district in all the Sub – Divisions under the supervision of Deputy Superintendents of Police.
