A ‘Kalingandhra Literature Festival’ will be held at the Visakhapatnam Public Library at Dwarakanagar, in Visakhapatnam on March 29. Speaking to the media on Thursday, the organisers said that popular writers and poets from across the country were expected to participate in the festival. K.S. Chalam, founder president of the Uttarandhra Adhyayana Vedika, said that the region between the Mahanadi and Godavari rivers was earlier known as ‘Kalingandhra’. It reflected the cultural traditions of the Telugu people living in Visakhapatnam and Ganjam districts, which were both under Madras Presidency during the British rule.
