Traffic restrictions will be in place in several parts of the city on Friday (March 20) in view of Jummat-ul-Vida, the last Friday prayers of the Ramzan month. The main roads leading to Mecca Masjid near Charminar will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

As per the advisory from the Hyderabad city traffic police, the traffic from Nayapul towards Charminar will be diverted at Madina junction towards City College, while vehicles from Nagulchinta and Shalibanda will be diverted at Himmatpura towards Hari Bowli and Khilwat. Commuters from Chowk Maidan will be redirected towards Kotla Aliza and Moghalpura, and those from Moosabowli will be diverted at Motigalli towards Khilwat Ground and surrounding routes.

Traffic from Etebar Chowk towards Gulzar House will be diverted towards Mandi Miralam Market and Bibi Bazar, while vehicles from Mitti ka Sher will be rerouted via Ghansi Bazaar towards High Court Road and Khilwat. Traffic from APAT side will be diverted at Lakkad Kote towards Mandi Miralam Market as per requirement.

Designated parking arrangements have been made at multiple locations including Gulzar Function Hall, Mufeed-ul-Anam Ground, Charminar Bus Terminal, AU Hospital, Khilwat Ground, and Old Pension Office near Chowmohalla Palace to manage the influx of devotees.

These restrictions will also apply to RTC buses. City buses heading towards Charminar will terminate at Afzalgunj, while district-bound buses from MGBS will be diverted via Chaderghat, Saidabad, IS Sadan, Owaisi Hospital, Bandlaguda and Aramghar.

Diversions in Secunderabad

In Secunderabad, Subhash Road will remain closed between Mahankali police station and Old Ramgopalpet junction from 9 a.m. to 1.00 p.m., with diversions in place via Ranigunj and Paradise. Traffic from Bata crossroads will be diverted near Mahankali police station towards Lala Temple.
