Declaring that her struggle would be against “Daddy, Modi and Chinna Modi,” Kalvakuntla Kavitha, president of Telangana Jagruthi, made it clear that she would not compromise with anyone as she plans her new political party. In an informal chat with reporters here, she asserted that there will be “no compromise” in her political fight. By Daddy she meant K Chandrasekhar Rao, while she was referring to CM Revanth Reddy while mentioning Chinna Modi. Ms Kavitha said consultations are underway regarding the party’s agenda and that she would announce the new party at an auspicious time. Technical aspects regarding the party’s name would be sorted out soon. Efforts are underway to identify land for establishing the new party’s central office. She revealed that she plans to meet national-level leaders before formally announcing the party after Sri Rama Navami. Mahatma Gandhi’s Sarvodaya philosophy will be the ideological foundation of the proposed outfit. She alleged that both the Congress party and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy were trying to take political advantage of her differences with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and it was evident the way in which they raised her issue in the Assembly for political mileage. Ms Kavitha claimed that the new party would have a significant impact in districts such as Adilabad, Nizamabad and Khammam. She claimed that after she distanced herself from the BRS, the party suffered significantly in Nizamabad district. About her electoral plans, Kavitha said, she has been receiving invitations from various regions, both from south and north Telangana, to contest. She said she would consult with intellectuals, people’s organisations and Left parties such as the CPI (ML) New Democracy in future struggles. “We will encourage a new generation of leadership in the new party,” she said.
