Bhubaneswar will host the prestigious World Athletics Indoor Championships 2028 after the international federation confirmed the same on Thursday. The decision was formally approved during the World Athletics Council meeting in Torun, Poland, hosting the 2026 edition from March 20-22. The venue was recently inspected by the officials in January. The venue, will also be hosting the inaugural National Indoor Athletics Championships on March 24-25 as part of its trials for the big event. “India will host the 2028 World Athletics Indoor Championships at the Kalinga Indoor Stadium in Bhubaneswar. Odisha is one of the main destinations for track and field in the country. The Indian athletes have been making a good impression at the global level. We are hopeful more youngsters will earn glory at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games,” AFI president Bahadur Singh Sagoo said in a statement.
