Engineering student found dead in hostel room at Medipally

A 20-year-old engineering student was found dead in her hostel room in Medipally on Thursday, March 19.

The deceased, identified as Nandini, had allegedly hanged herself at a private hostel in Narapally, Medipally. “She was a third-year B.Tech student at Siddharth Engineering College and hailed from Sanugula village in Chandurthi mandal of Sirisilla district,” said an officer from the Medipally police station.

According to the officer, the incident came to light after the hostel management alerted authorities. Based on a complaint lodged by the hostel owner, the Medipally police registered a case and took up investigation. The reasons behind the death are yet to be ascertained.
