The Tamil Nadu Assembly election is set to be held on April 23, 2026, with multiple political players in the fray: the ruling DMK and its alliance partners, the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), and a third player, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, led by actor Vijay. Counting of votes will take place on May 4.

Amid this contest, issues faced by the people will take centre stage, including civic and infrastructural concerns, women’s safety, education, employment, and more.

At The Hindu, we will be travelling to constituencies across the State, speaking to voters about the issues that concern them and what they expect from the new government. Tune in to our Constituency Watch segment to follow our on-ground coverage.
