Revanth Reddy has asserted that the Telangana Government is committed to the welfare and development of farmers and is moving ahead with making the State umber one in the country in all aspects. The Government is firm on making agriculture profitable and has hence, initiated a spree of measures to ensure they got remunerative prices and relieved of loans. The Chief Minister was speaking at the Ugadi — Telugu new year day — celebrations organised by the State Government in Hyderabad on Thursday (March 19, 2026). He said the new year Paraabhava Nama Samvatsaram would be dedicated to farmers welfare. The Chief Minister said the Government was giving bonus to farmers cultivating fine rice and it was a matter of pride that the State was among the lowest in the country in terms of debt burden on farmers. Over 70% families in the State were dependent on agriculture and the State Government had therefore implemented crop loan waiver up to ₹2 lakh benefitting them. Since taking over reins, the Congress Government had spent ₹18,000 crore on Rythu Bharosa, and the Yasangi (Rabi) instalment would be released on March 22. The Dharani portal was scrapped as it turned out to be a bane for farmers. Ever since, the Government was resolving land related issues amicably. At the same time, the Government was on high alert on natural calamities. “I pray the God that the State farmers should not be put to inconvenience because of natural calamities,” he said.
