Chandrababu Naidu said the Ugadi festival reflects the State’s rich culture and traditions and hoped it would herald all good things. Participating in the Telugu new year celebrations at Tummalapalli Kshetrayya Kalakshetram in Vijayawada on Thursday (March 19, 2026), Mr. Naidu said the Ugadi Pachadi symbolises different stages and experiences in one’s life and that life was all about balancing those things. He observed that life was a blend of joy and happiness and sorrows and hardships which everyone has to go through. The CM said this year 38 people were selected for the Kala Ratna awards and 122 for the Ugadi Puraskars and congratulated them on their accomplishments. He stated that the Telugu culture was unique and its festivals diverse and all of them signify the worship of the almighty and nature together. Mr. Naidu said he had the honour of organising the GodavariPushkarams for the third time and that the government was geared up for the Krishna Pushkarams. The government was striving to ensure water security for drinking, agriculture and industries, especially farmers who feed the nation, he said, adding water for sowing crops would be released by May 15. Noted poet and scholar Madugula Naga Phani Sarma read out predictions for the Telugu New Year contained in the Panchangam. Ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and Kandula Durgesh, MLAs Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and Gadde Rammohan, 20-Point Program Chairman Lanka Dinakar and others were present.
