Doraiswami as the next Ambassador to China, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Thursday (March 19, 2026). Mr. Doraiswami is currently the High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom. “He is expected to take up the assignment shortly,” the Ministry said in a statement. Currently, Pradeep Kumar Rawat is serving as India’s Ambassador to China. Mr. Doraiswamy has previously served as India’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, South Korea and Uzbekistan.
