A two-day national academic programme on sepsis diagnosis and management called “SRM SEPSICON 2026” was conducted by SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre on March 17 and 18.

Titled “Decoding Sepsis”, the event focused on improving clinical outcomes in sepsis care. The programme included hands-on workshops on infection control, antimicrobial stewardship and advanced blood diagnostic techniques. Participants took part in case-based discussions, laboratory demonstrations and audit-based learning sessions.

Rahul Narang, Dean (Research) and Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology, AIIMS Bibinagar, spoke about the need for integrated approaches in healthcare, highlighting collaboration across disciplines.

Nithin M. Nagarkar, Pro-Vice Chancellor (MHS), SRMIST, said multidisciplinary coordination among clinicians, microbiologists and researchers remains key to effective care.

R. Jayanthi, Dean (Medical), SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, K. V. Leela, Associate Dean (UG Academics) and Head, Department of Microbiology also spoke.
