The shed, constructed by the Land Army, caved in during the downpour. No casualties or damage to vehicles were reported, according to sources. The incident comes close on the heels of a similar structural collapse at the academy. About two weeks ago, the roof of the dining hall collapsed, triggering allegations of substandard construction. Following the incident, Assistant Executive Engineer, Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL) Saurabh Bhiman was placed under suspension. Prabuddha Academy, which runs a coaching centre for aspirants preparing for competitive examinations, was built over an area of 10,000 sq ft at a cost of ₹30 crore. It was inaugurated in January 2026. Meanwhile, BJP leader Avvanna Myakeri said that the latest incident points to poor quality of work. He noted that the parking shed is located adjacent to the building where the earlier roof collapse occurred. He said that the back-to-back incidents have raised serious concerns over safety on campus and called for a detailed inquiry into the construction of the academy building.
