Gadag swami condemns Kaneri seer’s statement

Sri Tontad Siddarama Swami of Gadag has condemned statement of Sri Adrushya Kadasiddeshwar Swami of Kaneri Math and denied allegations made by him.

“The Kaneri Math seer made some allegations against me and the Gadag Tontad Math at a recent rally in Bagalkot district. He claimed that I insulted the Bhagavad Gita. But these are false and baseless. Neither have I nor our math has ever insulted any text of any religion. On the contrary, we have published Bhagavad Gita written by Chandradhar Sharma and Sri Siddeshwar Swami. The Kaneri Math seer has also claimed that the Gadag Tontad Math has published a Kannada translation of a Marathi Quran. This is not true. We have published the Kannada version of the Hindi work called Islam Dharma Sandesh by Vinoba Bhave. This was released in the presence of Sri Siddeshwar Swami and the Kaneri Math seer was also invited to the event,” he said.

“It is unfortunate that the Kaneri Math seer continues to make such statement despite being reprimanded by the High Court of Karnataka and the Supreme Court. He has been making baseless accusations and defaming others and spreading hatred by pitting people of one religion against another. This is the third time that he is trying to defame our character through such false accusations. The people of the State are observing all this. These are false accusations of a malicious mind that are intended to insult our institutions,” the Tontad Math seer said.
