Eluru Forest Division gets 13 vehicles under CAMPA scheme

The Eluru Forest Division has acquired 13 new vehicles under the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority scheme to strengthen forest protection and conservation efforts.

The vehicles have been procured for both the Territorial and Wildlife wings of the division and will be used for forest protection, wildlife conservation, fire prevention and curbing illegal tree felling. They are expected to significantly improve onground monitoring and field operations by enabling forest officials and staff to reach remote areas quickly and discharge their duties more effectively.

Officials said the initiative forms part of the State government’s broader efforts to conserve forest resources, promote greenery and maintain ecological balance with active public participation. The utilisation of CAMPA funds for acquiring essential infrastructure, they noted, underlines the priority being given to strengthening forest protection mechanisms.

The new fleet is expected to play a key role in improving forest management, ensuring quicker response during emergencies and enhancing supervision of conservation programmes across the division, according to a press release.
