In a significant step, Tamil Nadu Forest Department has undertaken a coastal bio-shield project at Kulasekerapattinam, a nature based intervention to enhance coastal resilience, aimed at protecting vulnerable coastal ecosystems and communities from the impacts of climate change. The initiative has been launched at an estimated cost of ₹3.7 crores.
