The K.R. Puram Traffic Police have registered cases against 22 two-wheeler riders for performing dangerous “wheelie” stunts on city roads during Shab-e Khadr, a holy night during the month of Ramzan. According to police, a special enforcement drive was conducted on Tuesday to curb reckless riding. The operation was carried out along key stretches including Old Madras Road, Bhattarahalli Junction, and near Medahalli Bridge under the K.R. Puram traffic limits. During the drive, police personnel stationed at multiple junctions identified riders engaging in wheeling and other risky maneuvers. A total of 22 riders and their two-wheelers were detained on the spot. Subsequently, 22 separate FIRs were registered against the offenders. Police stated that all accused are adults, and legal action has been initiated under relevant provisions of the law. Officials reiterated that such stunts pose serious risks to public safety and warned of strict action against violators in future drives.
