Four members of the May 17 Movement were questioned by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Wednesday (March 18, 2026) for allegedly defacing Hindi lettering at the Erode Railway Station.

The individuals were identified as Nandha Gopal and Stalin from Namakkal district, and Vinod and Gowtham from Erode. According to sources, they entered the platform around 10.30 a.m. and sprayed black paint over the Hindi letters in the station name, protesting against what they termed as the imposition of Hindi.
