Lok Sabha proceedings during the Budget Session of Parliament | Photo Credit: ANI Parliament will sit over the next weekend in lieu of holidays on Thursday and Friday (March 19 and 2). The Chair informed the Lok Sabha on Wednesday (March 18, 2026) that the House will not sit on Thursday and Friday. While Ugadi will be celebrated on Thursday, the government has listed Eid holiday for Friday. Depending on moon sighting, Eid will either be celebrated on Friday or Saturday. Parliament Budget Session LIVE – March 18, 2026 The questions of various ministries that were to be taken up on March 19 and 20 will be tabled in the Lok Sabha on Monday. In the wake of the long weekend, the House will function on March 28 and 29, the next Saturday and Sunday. However, no questions will be taken up then. A similar announcement was made in the Rajya Sabha earlier. The House had functioned on weekends on earlier occasions too. Most recently, Parliament had met on February 1, a Sunday, for the presentation of the Union Budget.
