The police arrested a man for allegedly spreading communal hatred through WhatsApp at Tirur on Monday (March 16). The arrested is Sreejit V.K., 46, from Karathur. He reportedly spread messages claiming that he was attacked by a group of people who forcibly closed his shop for offering food to three Kudumbashree workers during Ramzan. A police investigation found that the accused had allegedly spread misinformation to incite communal hatred. He was produced in a court at Tirur and remanded in judicial custody.
