Representatives of the All India Khet Mazdoor Kisan Sabha (AIKMKS) and Rythu Coolie Sangham of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday asked the government to revoke police cases filed against AIKMKS national convener Simhadri Jhansi, Rythu Coolie Sangham State secretary Dantuluri Varma and other leaders for holding a public meeting and a rally on March 11, in Parvatipuram without taking prior permission from the police department. In a press release on Tuesday, the leaders V. Mutyalu, Bhaskara Rao along with others said that they had obtained permission in advance and it was unappropriate of the police department to file cases against the leaders who held the meeting in a peaceful manner. They said that for the meeting, the police department had provided adequate police security and now it was claiming that the meeting was organised in spite of the restrictions on rallies and public meetings in the district headquarters and other parts of the district.
