Police towing away vehicles parked along the roads causing traffic congestion, in Srisailam on Tuesday. | Photo Credit: BY ARRANGEMENT The priests performed Kailasa Vahana seva to the processional deities of Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple on the second day of Ugadi Mahotsavams in Srisailam on Tuesday (March 17, 2026). The processional deities were taken out for “Gramotsavam” on the beautifully decorated Kailasa Vahanam amid chants of Om Namah Sivaiah by the devotees. The temple town wore a festive look as cultural troupes, folk artists, and various artists performed in front of the Vahana seva. Meanwhile, Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao said that a large number of devotees from Karnataka and Maharashtra’s Sangli, Solapur, and other parts are reaching the temple town by foot passing through the Nallamala forests. More than 98,000 pilgrims had darshan on Monday (March 16), he added. The EO said more than 57,357 devotees had darshan by 5 p.m. on Tuesday and the temple management is providing “alankara darshan” only to facilitate darshan to more number of devotees. Mr. Srinivasa Rao said water and other facilities have been provided to the devotees at the temporary shelters set up at various parts of the town. Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that they are supplying water to the devotees during the five-day Mahotsavams, arranged 450 water taps and also drinking water through 34 RO plants. Annaprasadam is being served at the annaprasadam distribution complex and also by various philanthropists and organisations. Meanwhile, the Nandyal district police urged the devotees to park their vehicles in the designated parking lots provided in the temple town. Police said that the temple town is witnessing a surge of devotees and parking vehicles along the road is causing traffic snarls.
