RSS announces major structural reorganisation to boost nationwide activities

In a major organisational shift announced during the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has decided to implement a significant structural reorganisation effective March 2027.

To accelerate the expansion of its activities, the current framework consisting of 11 kshetras and 46 prants will be transitioned into a more granular system of nine kshetras and 85 sambhags. Under this new national plan, the Andhra Pradesh region is set to be organised into two distinct sambhags.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, RSS Pranta Saha Sanghchalak Sunkavalli Ramakrishna and RSS Pranta Prachara Pramukh Bayya Vasu said that the report presented at Pratinidhi Sabha reveals that daily shakhas, 32,606 weekly milans, and 13,211 monthly mandals are operating nationwide. This growth brings the total number of activity centres across India to more than 1.34 lakh. In Andhra Pradesh specifically, the network has grown to include 1,746 daily shakhas and over 3,058 total activity centres.

The resolutions adopted at the Samalkha meeting underline the RSS’s intent to combine organisational growth with social outreach, positioning its centenary year as a milestone for both expansion and societal engagement. The RSS leadership urged its volunteers to rise above caste and religious differences and work collectively for the welfare of society.

It also decided to collaborate with spiritual organisations and prominent members of society to further the cause of social harmony, they said, adding that the Sangh is also actively celebrating national milestones, such as the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram.
