Mr. Reddy made the comments in an informal chat with the media in the Assembly lobbies on Tuesday. He described Mr Jagga Reddy as a “mass leader” with grassroots connect and suggested that elevating him to TPCC chief could significantly strengthen the party’s electoral prospects. The present TPCC president, Mahesh Kumar Goud, who assumed the post in September 2024, was later elected to the Legislative Council. The comments come in the wake of the party’s noted position of “one person, one post.” There are also rumours that Mr Goud is likely to be inducted into the Cabinet. Interestingly, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy resigned as PCC chief after becoming Chief Minister following the 2023 Assembly elections.
